What to Expect in Your Session

Congratulations! You set your appointment, now what? Your instructor or practitioner will be in contact with you about specifics to your appointment (i.e. if it's a Private Arts Session, what art form will you be working on, what will you need, if you will meet at The McCormick Movement Studio at Amalgam Arts & Wellness or another location, etc.). You are also welcome to Contact Us for clarification as well.

Once we have your appointment set and details clarified, for your first meeting, try to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of your appointment in order to wash/sanitize hands, fill out paperwork and review session details. For all proceeding appointments, arriving 5 minutes prior to appointment time is fine. For all future sessions, remember to wash/sanitize hands. Due to the pandemic, for all in person appointments, staff and clients 2 years old and up are highly recommended to wear masks and social distance inside the facility being used for appointments, whether it is our studio or another agreed upon location.

We pride ourselves in our professional approach and will do what we can to make your appointments fulfilling and meaningful. We simply ask you to keep this mindset in our continued collaboration with you towards your health and wellness journey. Enjoy!

***Note: All sessions are currently held virtually or at our new McCormick Movement Studio located in Old Brooklyn/South Hills unless otherwise discussed. Please inform us of any accessibility needs you may have in order for us to accommodate all of your needs***

Attire for Sessions

Generally, attire should be comfortable and have ease of movement (i.e. workout attire). As long as it is not offensive in imagery or to the senses, we do not have a dress code, so it should be fine!

Some sessions will require specific attire (i.e. tap shoes for tap dance, form fitting clothing for ballet) and will be specified when you schedule your appointment. If you have further questions about attire, please do not hesitate to ask!

Cancellation Policy

Life happens, we know, and we will work hard to inform you as soon as possible (i.e. inclement weather, illness, etc.). In the event that we are running late or need to cancel, we will inform you as soon as possible and work with you to make up and/or reschedule lost time.

If a client is running late, they will need to inform their instructor/practitioner as soon as possible, and are subject to lose the lost time. Clients are asked to cancel/reschedule at least one (1) hour prior to the scheduled appointment. Any late cancellation or "no call/no show" appointment is subject to a full charge of the missed appointment and/or an additional $15 late cancellation fee.
